Privacy Policy

Redirect Engine is built so your browsing stays private. Redirects run on your devices. We do not require an account, and we do not sell personal data.

The short version

• No accounts with us. You do not sign up or log in to Redirect Engine. Purchases use your Apple Account through the App Store.
• No browsing history. We do not see or record the pages you visit. Matching and redirects happen only on your device.
• Your recipes stay yours. Recipes you create are stored on your devices. With Pro and iCloud sync, they can also sync through iCloud - not through our servers.
• Optional AI drafting (Pro). If you use AI Describe Recipe, the short description you type is sent to our service so it can draft a recipe. You review the draft before saving. This is optional and only runs when you ask for it.
• Optional diagnostic reports. Nothing is submitted automatically. If you choose to send a diagnostic report, the report and related device and app details are sent to us so we can investigate the issue.

What is stored on your devices

The app stores the redirect recipes you create or install - things like a recipe name, the URL pattern to match, the destination, whether the recipe is on or off, platform Sync targets (All Devices, iOS/iPadOS, Mac, or Off), and related settings.

A small set of recipe presets (built-in or updated from the public Recipes list) may also be kept on the device so you can add recipes quickly. Those are generic templates, not information about you.

If you use AI Describe Recipe, the app also keeps a local count of how many drafts you generated today so it can apply a daily limit. That count stays on the device.

With Pro, per-device Enabled state for recipes that are not set to All Devices is stored only in the app’s shared container on that device. It is not uploaded to Redirect Engine servers.

iCloud sync (Pro)

If you unlock Redirect Engine Pro and use iCloud sync, your recipes can appear on other Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account. That includes the recipe list and, when Sync is All Devices, the shared On/Off state. Platform Sync targets (which platforms may run a recipe) travel with the recipe list. That sync is handled by Apple on your account, not by us. We do not receive or store your recipe list on our servers for sync.

Purchases

Redirect Engine Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Entitlement is verified through Apple’s systems so Pro features can unlock on your devices.

AI Describe Recipe (Pro, optional)

AI Describe Recipe lets you type a short plain-language description of a redirect (for example, “send Google Search to Kagi and keep my query”) and receive a draft recipe to review and save.

Only when you tap Generate, the app sends:

• The description text you entered (up to a few hundred characters)
• App version
• Platform (for example iOS or macOS)

to Redirect Engine’s servers. That request is used only to draft a recipe. The description may be processed by an AI service we use for that purpose so a pattern and destination can be suggested.

What this is not:

• It is not used for advertising or building a profile about you
• It does not upload your existing recipes, bookmarks, or browsing history
• It does not run in the background while you browse - only when you use AI Describe Recipe

Please avoid putting personal details (names, emails, passwords, account numbers, and similar) in the description field. You always review the draft before it becomes a saved recipe.

A daily limit on successful drafts applies; usage for that limit is tracked on your device.

Diagnostic reports (optional)

Redirect Engine can prepare diagnostic information on your device to help troubleshoot crashes, hangs, performance problems, sync status, StoreKit status, and other app issues. Diagnostic reports are not sent automatically.

If you review the report and confirm that you want to submit it, the app sends:

• The diagnostic report shown in the app, which may include crash, hang, performance, storage, sync, catalog, and StoreKit diagnostic details
• Any optional note you enter
• App version and build number
• Platform, operating system version, and device model
• The number of MetricKit diagnostic events included
• The time the report was submitted

Submitted reports are used only to investigate faults, improve reliability, and protect the service from misuse. They may be processed by our hosting and email-delivery providers. Reports do not include contact details, so submitting one does not allow us to identify or respond to the sender. Do not include passwords, payment details, contact details, or other sensitive personal information in the optional note.

Submitted diagnostic reports are automatically deleted within seven days. To request earlier deletion, use our contact form and include the report ID displayed after submission. Reports are not linked to an account or personal identifier, so we cannot locate a report without its report ID.

Recipes updates

The app can download the public Recipes list when you check for updates or when the app refreshes presets. That download is the same shared template file for everyone. It does not include your personal recipes or any other personal data.

What is not collected or sold

We do not:

• Require a Redirect Engine account
• Record where you browse or which URLs the extension matches
• Upload your custom recipes to our servers for storage or analytics
• Send diagnostic reports unless you review and submit them
• Sell your data
• Run advertising trackers on this site that identify you

The Safari extension applies your recipes while you browse. Matching and redirects happen on your device only.

This website

This site provides product information and the public Recipes list. Visiting it does not send us your recipes. Like most websites, basic technical request data may be handled by hosting infrastructure; we do not use that to identify you for ads or profiling.
